ABOUT
Hi! I am Ravneet Gulati Thakral, you can call me Rav :) I am a Speech and Language Pathologist working across different International Schools in Bangkok, Thailand.
I am a multilingual speaker, using a combination of English, Thai, Hindi and Punjabi to communicate in my daily life. I love to dance, listen to music, read, take photos, and spend time with family and friends.
I have always been a people’s person, and have wanted to give back to society growing up. What a better way to do this than working with children from age 3 yrs to age 14 yrs.
Helping others can be enjoyable, interesting, challenging and fulfilling. Speech and Language Pathology has always been appealing to me for these reasons, especially the area of working with children.

I am a firm believer that communication is the essence of human life; and by being in this profession, everyday I can make a difference in one’s life. This to me, is a beautiful thing.

Ravneet attended the ASHA (American Speech and Language) Convention 2023 in Boston. It was 3 - day convention with over 14,000 therapists attending. Over the 3 days, there were 100+ booths and several seminars that I attended.

EXPERIENCES
I have been practicing Speech & Language therapy for 14 years and have over 10 years of experience working with children of various abilities from toddlers to teenagers (aged 3 to 14 yrs). I have worked with different types of children with various needs.

CONSULTATION
During our first meeting, I will go through a list of case history questions to gain a deeper understanding of your child’s needs and your needs as a parent. I will do informal observations of your child during play in order to accurately analyze his/her speech sounds, receptive language (comprehension of language) and expressive language (spoken language). If necessary, I will also administer standardized Speech and Language assessments.
THERAPY
Depending on your child’s needs, I will develop a therapy plan outlining all Speech and Language goals that will be facilitated during therapy sessions. Therapy will take place once or twice a week, depending on the number of goals for therapy. Therapy sessions are typically 30 to 45 minutes long and are usually held in the child’s home or a designated location.
HOW WE WORK
My services are dedicated to helping a child improve his/her communication skills in all environments. Speech and language therapy session are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Toys, games, puzzles, books, flashcards, and other therapy materials are used to stimulate speech and language development during each treatment session.
As a speech and language pathologist, I assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and oral/swallowing skills to identify different types of communication problems and the best way to treat them.
In speech and language therapy, I work with a child in different environments; one-on-one, in a small group, and/or directly in a classroom environment to overcome the specific disorders across the board. At the end of each session, I provide oral feedback to parents and caregivers as well as provide home practices and strategies that can be practiced at home. At the end of the term, or before discharging the child, I provide treatment summary reports as well as assessment reports, depending on the case.
